Got about 600 words written for this chapter of Guardians of Sanctuary. It's basically done, but I have to go through it, polish it up, and possibly add a bit to it because 2100 words doesn't feel like enough. Then I'll get it uploaded and get back to my short story collection for another 10k words before doing the next chapter in my Diablo 3 fanfic.

My dad passed away on the 18th, so I've found it difficult to write. Though I wrote 1,112 words in the four days after his passing, my Muse finally returned on the 25th. During that time, I wrote 4501 words in Roleplay and 4286 words in the short story compilation I'm working on.

That brings my total to 19,500 words so far this month. The most I've ever written in a month before. *checks* Oh, wow! I didn't realize I hit 40k in a month twice before in 2022. Just slightly over, though. Like 40.6 and 40.9. Think that was the year I was really working on Forevermore, so dad had something for me to read while he was driving to his chemo treatments. So 50k in a month is actually really achievable for me if I put my mind to it. That's great to know!

For once, my serious writing is doubling my roleplay writing. Zero fanfiction this month as well, as I wanted to surpass 10k publishable words first. Now that I have, going to work on the next chapter of my Guardians of Sanctuary fanfic. Good, too, considering I was beginning to get burnt out on the short stories.

Sorry for no updates. My dad was released from the hospital on the 14th, only to pass away on the 18th, and I haven't had much time or desire to write. His funeral is on the 27th, and my grandma is living with me until the 1st. So though I'll try to write a bit every day before that, it'll likely only be after then that I'm back to semi-normal.

930 words written today, and another chapter of Story of my Life completed! I'm no longer as worried about not getting this completed in time because I'm getting at least a chapter a day. ^.^

I'm currently at 5700 words for publishable writing this month. So I'm thinking that as soon as I hit 10k words in this project for this month, that chapter is where I'll take a break and work on the next chapter of Guardians of Sanctuary. And then do another 10k words.

Four chapters of Story of My Life were completed in the last six days. A total of 4394 words. I'm going to keep at this until I reach 10k words. Then, I'll be able to focus on roleplay replies for a few days while also working on the next chapter of Guardians of Sanctuary. ^.^

2400 of those words were in the last two days alone! Dad's been in the hospital with pneumonia, and I've been with him for the last three days. Got to admit. Having a laptop while in the hospital with nothing really to do but sit around kind of helped matters.

Update because I promised I'd try to do them more often.

I just finished another chapter of my main project, Story of My Life. That means I should be moving on to a chapter of Guardians of Sanctuary, right?

Wrong. With so many chapters (however small they may be) left in this book, I want to prioritize it even further. So I will be doing three chapters in it before switching to Guardians of Sanctuary.

As much as I wanna keep doing the every other chapter thing, I really want to have a book published before my dad passes, and, with his condition seemingly getting worse, I want as much effort as I can force myself to apply to this project.

The chapters in my story take 1-3 days to do, while the fanfic chapters take 3-7 days. The former is based on my life and so just requires visualizing the scene. Whereas the latter requires imagination and thought in creating the scene. So I hope you can understand why I don't want to use the every-other-chapter method for this specific project anymore.

I'm sorry I haven't been very active in updating my fanfics since I joined the site. Between anxiety, imposter syndrome, procrastination, life, and whatever other excuses (however valid), I regularly went weeks to months between updates.

This year has actually been the best in a while in regards to updates, and I'm really hoping to continue that into next year. Hopefully with even more regular updates!

I've been alternating between fanfics and my publishable stories, and it seems to be helping keep a nice flow going. So whenever I upload a new chapter, know that it might be a week or two before I get the next one up.

I've been alternating my fanfics as well, but I'm thinking of sticking to one until it's complete. The best one to do that with would be Guardians of Sanctuary. So, unless you're absolutely interested in one of my other fanfics, that is the one I'll be focusing on.

From now on, I'm also going to post progress updates here. Even the publishable pieces, so that you have an idea of how much longer it will be before I begin the next chapter of Guardians of Sanctuary.
