Happy new year all. Well, somehow a year has passed me by without so much as posting a single chapter on here. I've thought lots about my stories, and what I want from them. I certainly haven't given up on them... but my time is spent spinning lots of creative plates, outside of a busy work and family life. 
          
          I did a good few solo acoustic gigs this year, which makes me feel better about keeping an oar in the music. If you want to check any of that out, you can find me under End of the world club on socials.
          
          Hopefully I will get back to posting chapter updates soon, and apologies to anyone that has been waiting, or hoping for something new, or indeed anyone that had started reading and forgotten about me.

          A belated Happy New Year to you all. I've been busy hammering away on my keyboard of late, and finally I have another chapter of The Brightlings to share.
          
          Chapter 16, 'Are 'friends' Electrik?' is now live. Let the clues spill forth and the plot thicken, like lumpy gravy.
          
          More to follow much sooner than I promised last August! Hehehe.

I've entered The Brightlings into The Wattys 2023! 
          
          In case you missed it, Wattpad is accepting ongoing stories this year. I'm around half way into The Brightlings, and have put a heck of a lot of time and effort into it so far, so... why not?!

@littlesilverwren Hurrah! Good luck to you too! I have plenty of tweaks to make, but I figured if I didn't do it now, I never would. Fitting the entire premise of the story into 500 words was a good exercise, even if nothing else comes of it...

EDIT: Two days later all of my rankings are back where they were before, despite nobody having voted or commented on the latest chapter yet!
            
            Hmmm... Perhaps the algorithm is powered by writer confusion?

Wow, I so don't get Wattpad ranking system. I post a new chapter, and rather than push an active author higher up the lists their work is tagged in, it ditches my story some 500+ places lower in nearly all instances. I went from being ranked #6 in Tunnel to #550 just like that. How utterly baffling, and mildly annoying too. 
            
            Still, I'm not writing this for rankings... I'm writing it for myself.
            
            Chapter 14 - 'Born in a storm', will hopefully follow soon. Perhaps it will propel me into the Wattpad waste basket. ;oP
