@RitzCrackerReader Well, my answer is going to be a bit toxic? So basically, fear of failure and being left behind motivates me! As in when I start something, I make positive vivid imagery in my mind about how the results will be - not having that soon enough keeps me going! Also, I am very insecure, so I easily tune into comparison mode, usually thinking "Everybody out there has their sh!t figured out, and is participating in contests and building followers! I need to finish my first draft asap". It also helps that I have multiple novels/storyline ideas...so the excitement of starting a new novel gets me through writing the current one (I finish what I start - that is the rule). Also, I love my protagonists (as in most times I add a trait of a loved one of mine in my characters, or even when I don't, it just comes to me naturally), so I feel like, "My baby is waiting for me...I can't leave her hanging there alone." Also, another advice I have gotten is "Make it exist first, you can make it good later." - although that doesn't work for me, but maybe it would for you?

I don’t really know! I just write it! It’s like sometimes I even think of the story I want to write in my sleep, and make a plan, so when I got time I can write it down and publish it!

One of my close writer friends, @savvyq13 is currently writing a book called The Last Time I Saw You (Mature). Here's the blurb :
Sixteen-year-old Catalina Halloway thought her story ended the night she jumped from that bridge. Instead, she wakes three months earlier-alive, unbroken, and trapped in a world she'd left behind long ago. Her suicide note has vanished. Her family remembers nothing. And yet Catalina knows one thing for certain: if she does nothing, her path will lead back to the same inevitable end.

Determined to rewrite the ending, Catalina digs into the lies surrounding her quaint little town and all its people. Logan, the boy who ruined her. Grayson, the one who let it all happen. And the ghosts from her past- those who never really left.

But the more Catalina tries to alter the story, the more the story seems to alter her. Each choice she makes leads her down another path, unraveling not just the town's secrets but the thing she fears most. The monster in her mind.

Because Catalina is learning the hardest truth of all-sometimes you're not the hero of the story. Sometimes you're the villain.

i didn't have it in myself to go with grace, and so the battleships will sink beneath the waves

It's an amazing book, and written to such a high level, she's put so much care into making it amazing. Read it if you want!
