I have written 15 books in all genres – fiction, narrative non-fiction, memoir/essay, poetry, how-to and books about writing. I have also edited more than 130 books, and have been a magazine editor for the past 20 years. In addition, I operate a very popular blog, "The Word Journeys Blog," (bobyehling.wordpress.com), as well as a popular Facebook community, Word Journeys – Resources for Writers. I've been fortunate enough to work with and write about Academy Award winners, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, many sports champions, Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winners. As for me, I won the 2007 Independent Publishers Book Award for my book, "Writes of Life: Using Personal Experiences in Everything You Write."

Besides writing and presenting workshops at writers conferences throughout the U.S., I spend my time as a competitive marathoner, bodysurfing, surfing, organic gardening, swimming and cycling. My fiancee and I live about 30 miles north of San Diego, next to the town in which we met each other -- when we were five.
