Ok people listen up! For all of you who have watched Hotel Transylvania the series, you know Klaus? Well, I have come to a disturbing realisation, o e that will make you look at him differently forever. Let me get it out. Klaus is from a neglectful and probably abusive home.
Now, this may seem crazy, but hear me out. I have evidence to prove my point!
In one episode, he straight up said that he lived in a cave for 5 years because no one bothered to rescue him. His words, not mine.
Now with this context, take another look at the episode where he asks Mavis to teach him to bat out. If he really hated Mavis, would he go to her for help? No! If he did hate her as much as the show makes him out to, he would have gone to Uncle Gean. But no. He chose Mavis. Why? He doesn't hate he, he's envious. She has a loving parent, something he really wants. Keep in mind that in vampire years, Klaus is only about 12 or 13. He's a kid. If he is from a toxic home, he wouldn't be able to fully understand that. When he sees Mavis and Drac, he gets jealous because he doesn't understand why he doesn't have that. He doesn't hate Mavis, he wants to be Mavis, which is why he goes to her for help.
This also explains his attention seeking. As his parents don't pay any attention to him, he looks for it at the hotel. He makes fun of Mavis to get some affection from Lydia as she is the closest he seems to have to a parent at the hotel. However, this backfires every time. He shows off to try and get someone to notice him and praise him and do what his parents should do but don't.
I hope this sheds some light for everyone who reads this on why Klaus is the way he is. He isn't just a self centered brat, in fact, quite the opposite. He just needs some love. The poor boi just needs a hug.
