*gah, I’m so annoyed. I just spent so long typing this long message for you and then Wattpad deleted it because it was too big.
Hey. I’ve been watching Oshi No Ko. It might seem like your usual yandere type thing and you’d avoid it. But it deals with real mental health issues. A teenage actor named Akane tried to take her life because of a mistake she made on TV trying to help out her manager. I cried watching it.
It didn’t hit me until Akane’s friend Yuki hit her (haha) for worrying her so much: My God, what are they going through while we sit here pretending these people we see on TV aren’t exactly like us? They’re being hurt so much by what people without a filter say to them.
You know that phrase “your actions matter more than your words?” It’s utter bullshit. I’m serious. Words HURT people so much. Actors in particular are good at pretending things don’t get to them. But it does. It hurts. People get hurt by the things you say to them. I should know.
Please, please, please: just be kind. If you’re mad, scream into a pillow and talk about it with your family. Don’t take it out on someone who works so hard to make you smile. Because that’s all they do—try to make us laugh and smile.
They live for that. It’s what gives them life. Hearing that everyone hates them is like tearing out pieces of their soul. I love you guys so much and I want you to live happy lives. You might not believe me, but it’s the truth. I always tell the truth.
