Sometimes, I wonder why I ever post anything. I posted something earlier that I thought was funny and would be well received, but no one else seemed to like it. It's been many hours since I posted it; but it still has no comments and only a few likes.

The strange thing is that I never received a notification that someone liked my post. My notifications are on, so does that mean that the post got ratioed so badly that the likes are so few as to not even warrant a notification?

I really did think that the post would be received well. I'm surprised that no one commented. It's just a screenshot that looks funny out of context, and I thought the people on that site would appreciate it. I guess not. :(

I might delete this later, because I am worried that someone else from that site will somehow see it. That would be highly unlikely, I know, but I want to be careful. I'm just sad that I finally worked up the nerve to post something, but no one else liked it. That's really not a great feeling, especially for someone as insecure as I am.

@7074L174R14N Right; I remember that. Two days would not be enough to make a difference. If they really wanted to make it count, they should have done a longer protest. I don't really care about Reddit, as I am active in only one sub.

I've heard bad things about 4chan, though I never used it myself. I didn't know that there was an overlap between 4chan users and Reddit users. I generally have a low opinion of the average userbase of both sites. From what I've heard, people post a lot of weird things on 4chan.

@RosaMagnolie I mean, seeing as Reddit recently made some API changes that basically made third party apps impossible to use (So they can monopolize by only having one reddit app. it's kind of like a website banning every browser except for google chrome).

More hardcore reddit users took it seriously and spread the word. The mid/low-level redditors took it like a "Pride month", i.e. Nobody really cares but something's supposed to be done about it in principle, So like pride month involves sticking rainbows everywhere, what happened here was they had a "blackout", a protest where a large number, about 8000+ subreddits would be "private-only" to protest reddit's API changes.

Sounds good right? Well what these morons did is they announced that the protest would last 2 days. Absolute fucking idiocy. I mean, it's so blatant, even u/spez, the CEO said that the blackout will have no major financial impact so just buckle up for two days. Now the API changes are in effect and nobody gives a shit.

Sheer morons. Trust me, you do NOT want to hunt for their attention. I swear, if there's one platform worse than 4chan, it's reddit.

In fact, part of the reason 4chan is so bad is because of edgelord redditors thinking 4chan is "neo-nazi heaven" and being radically in favor or radically against them and, basically being unreasonable asshats all around. They've contaminated every board. /b/, /pol/, /v/, /gif/, /sci/, /a/, /bant/, /int/, /g/, /wg/, you name it.

@karl_kroenen12 Thank you! Yeah, I guess I'll just have to post more and hope that at least a few of my posts get some traction. Someone did finally comment on my post, though, so I'm happy about that!

Still alive or did you abandon this account?

RosaMagnolie

@7074L174R14N Oh wow, that's really cool! You seem like you'd do well at that, and I'm sure it would give you a lot of options for well-paying jobs. It's good that you have something solid lined up for your future.

(Also, I'm so sorry that this reply is so late! I didn't mean to ignore you; I just haven't been on here much lately.)

@7074L174R14N Not much haha. I'm planning to see some friends over spring break, though, so I'm sure that will be fun. I'm not sure yet what exactly we'll do, but just seeing them will be nice. How about you?

@Mystical_Stays_Based I think I've heard that name before, but I've never watched his videos. Maybe I'll check him out sometime. I don't really watch YouTubers nowadays, except for occasionally manga review channels; but I used to a little more when I was younger. I remember liking Toby Turner's gaming channel with Happy Wheels and stuff, as well as his songs. The rest I don't really remember; probably just whatever was popular at the time.

RosaMagnolie

@Mystical_Stays_Based True lol; the result of spending nearly a week in close proximity to my character.

Yeah, I suppose it shouldn't really be surprising that Elon fell through with Twitter. It's just too bad that he gave people false hope for a while. It's funny, because he said recently that journalists should publish on Twitter if they want to post somewhere that allows free speech. Apparently that is not quite true... As always, certain topics are still censored. The only platform I have heard anything good about lately is Rumble, but I think that one is for video sharing or streaming.

RosaMagnolie

@Mystical_Stays_Based It certainly gives some interesting responses sometimes! Such as the time that it made the character I have been chatting with randomly decide to drink kerosene: https://imgur.com/a/cqhfqU4 It is worth noting that, at no point in the RP, was a bottle of kerosene ever stated to be present.

I've never seen that movie... sounds interesting, though. Yeah, probably good to take a break from Twitter every now and then. I think that site is getting worse- I heard that Elon is going to remove the block button, and he still censors people without even saying why. It seems that there are not too many decent social media platforms. Doesn't really affect me, as I rarely use social media, but it is disappointing.

RosaMagnolie

@Mystical_Stays_Based Lmao I'm still here. Just haven't checked in for a while. I meant to continue our previous conversation; but then I went on vacation and had only my phone with me, and I don't know how to use this site on mobile. And I've spent most of my time since then doing questionable stuff on Character.ai, so I haven't been very active on other sites. Anyway, how have you been? Still doing some trolling on Twitter?

(Also, I tried to send this reply twice quite a few hours ago, but it didn't go through; so I'm hoping that it will this time.)

RosaMagnolie

@Mystical_Stays_Based Sounds like I'm not missing much on Tiktok, then. I used to be a little more active on Tumblr, and had a blog where I posted political stuff; but it was kind of low-effort and I stopped posting after a while. Nowadays, I just check the tags for fandom stuff that I like. I can't last too long before being disgusted by the culture there, though.

RosaMagnolie

@Mystical_Stays_Based Yeah, they definitely are a hivemind. In my experience, the worst platform is Tumblr. At least from what I have seen, most users there seem to be part of that community. I hate that site so much. I just go there occasionally to check the tags for stuff that I like. Tiktok is probably just as bad. To be fair, I have never used it; but I have gotten a general idea of what the userbase is like.
