i just finishing reading if he had been with me and omg guys.... SPOILERS
I actually hate booktok bc this was genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read in my life like i HATE autumn and her friends. why is she such a pick me like i literally can't with her. the author tries to portray her as 'not like other girls' but it comes of as cringey and annoying like words literally can't explain how much i dislike her. (ಥ ͜ʖಥ).
I also really didn't enjoy the writing at ALL. like I was expecting so much from the book but it was so underwhelming i literally almost cried. the pacing was so drawn out and literally NOTHING happens in it. the book only became interesting to me me at page 290 and there are 390 pages in this book *crying emoji*. I feel like the author had great ideas but didn't execute them well like autumn's depression?? I feel like it was poorly written and also her grief and suicide attempt. the ending was also so rushed even finny's death like what?? that was being built up from the first page. the author also didn't even take the time to write how autumn and the mothers were feeling after his death like she just brushed over it.
I feel betrayed, lied to and cheated by the internet bc why was this book so hyped like i genuinely didn't enjoy this book *broken hearts*.i hate booktok AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE BEEN TRICKED INTO BUYING A BAD TIKTOK BOOK. LIKE PEOPLE WERE SAYING THEY WOULD SELL THEIR SOULS TO READ THIS BOOK AND THAT IT WAS THE MOST HEARTBREAKING THING THAT THEY'VE READ. LIKE I WENT INTO THIS BOOK EXPECTING THE SONG OF ACHILLES LEVEL HEARTBREAK AND I GOT THAT. HOW DID Y'ALL CRY TO THAT LIKE WHAT?? IM GENUINELY SO UPSET AND ANGRY I READ THIS BOOK LIKE I SPENT ACTUAL MONEY ON THAT BOOK AND I ALREADY BOUGHT THE SECOND ONE SO NOW I HAVE TO READ THAT TOO BC I CAN'T JUST NOT READ IT BC AGAIN I SPENT MOBEY ON IT.
