Well I've read TONS of books. Like, I can't even name them all. I guess since I read so much, I wanted to make my own. And then I saw on wattpad all these people who had so much fans and millions of reads and it made me want to make my own books. And omg, I know what you mean. I didn't know if people would read mine either, but I tried out anyways cause writing is enjoyable, especially when you can make the characters to do anything you want! And you can make your story go anywhere. I think you should make a story since you wanted to do it ever since you were little. Trust me, it's really worth it :) Plus, I can always promote you on mine? Like tell people to check out yours? :) There are some tips I can give you to attract readers. First, your profile. Making it attractive would attract people I guess. Like adding a nice backround, adding more info to your biography thing, Adding a picture of yourself (if you want to) And you need a VERY catchy title. I don't know if it's only me, but I usually don't read stories on here where the title is so long and basically a sentence. Example: Omg i got kidnapped by a vampire! I know its wrong to judge, but titles like that make the book sound so childish and immature. Or when they add unnecessary punctuation. Example: Omg I got kidnapped by a vampire!!!!??!!???" And now to the actual writing. Most people like reading a book that doesn't have one page for a chapter, I know I don't. People want to read a chapter that's long, at least 3 wattpad pages. I know sometimes it's hard to do that, but you at least have to try! The paragraphs shouldn't be sooooo long, because then it's hard to read it. The sentences should have descriptions, and proper grammar that make the book complete. I would recommend having an exciting first chapter, to reel the person in. It would make them want to read the next chapter too! :) And of course, a captivating cover is great too. If you want I can make it for you :) Hope I helped. :) <3
