I remember reading that in Greek mythology about Persephone who was take by Hades to be queen of the underworld but there were only certain times when she had to be in the underworld but she also was the god of nature and life so when she had to leave the world to go to underworld this created the seasons winter and autumn when things die and then when she came back tot the world things would come back to life again, the seasons summer and spring. You are like my Persephone and now that you've left me everything in my world is dying, but unlike Persephone you won't be coming back to my world.
