          	Edgar Allan Poe was known for writing poems one of them being the raven and the Raven poem falls into the category of Gothic poems. Mostly because Edgar Writing style is defined by melancholy tone, gothic atmosphere, intricate structure, and psychological depth. And Edgar a pioneer and inventor of the detective fiction genre and a significant contributor to science fiction. Edgar was also a master of Gothic horror and Edgar was born Jan 19,1809 and died on Oct 7,1849 at the age of 40 in washington medical college but no one really knows how he died.
          	
          	anyway back to analyzing Edgar poems emotions/reflection especially The Raven, Annabel Lee, and The Sleeper. The raven poem emotions are grief, despair, and a descent into madness. Annabel Lee poem emotions are intense love, devastating grief, and melancholy. The Sleeper poem emotions are melancholy, morbid fascination, tender reverence, eerie unease, internal conflict, attraction, and repulsion.
          	
          	The poems share one thing one emotion sorrow mostly a lot of other poems by Edgar Allan Poe have this emotion. But a lot of people don't understand Edgar poems are based off of slightly true events that happened to him. Like The Raven poem some people say that the poem was based off of his dead wife. But those are just rumors no one truly knows the truth.
