Born and raised in the vibrant city of Lagos, Ruqayyah Abdulkabir is a Hausa author who now calls Zaria home.  Her journey to becoming a writer began after completing her English Language degree at Ahmadu Bello University-a journey punctuated by marriage to a Zaria man and the joy of raising two beautiful children.  Inspired by her husband and the community around her, Ruqayyah crafts stories that are both fictional and deeply rooted in reality, sharing pieces of her own world with her readers.
