Singles' Day: A Celebration of Self-Love
Every year on November 11th, it's not couples who celebrate, but singles. The day was first celebrated at Nanjing University in China in 1993. It's also known as "Bachelor's Day".
Since then, the day has been celebrated worldwide. You'll be surprised to know that Singles' Day is given so much importance in China that it's a public holiday.
If you look at the date of Singles' Day, you'll notice that it's filled with the number one. When you write November 11th as a number, it becomes 11/11, meaning the number one is most prominent. And that number one represents you.
On this special day, singles treat themselves to some "me time". They spend time doing what they enjoy, buy themselves gifts, or go to their favorite places or restaurants.
For those who feel down on Valentine's Day, celebrate this day to the fullest. Forget the loneliness and start rediscovering yourself. Learn to love yourself.
