Ok, hear me out.
We've all seen doomed by the narrative. But what about the reverse?
The narrative wants desperately to save them, but they're just too set on dooming themselves.
(Idia, Morro, etc chime in with your own :-P)

Does it count if I have an OC who tried, after seeing how her father was mortal Prince but her mother was an immortal Guardian (basically a god in my stories), to cheat death with a spell that would transfer her soul to different lives/bodies after each time she died, worried that she’ll be mortal because nobody knew how she’d grow up due to being the first kid like this then many many many lives later after forgetting about her first life decides to die in peace finally to seal rifts despite a literal god (her mother) trying to prevent this?
lmao big lore drop-
But yeah basically her mother tried to find EVERY way to not lose a daughter that didn’t remember her only for the daughter to decide to go through with sacrificing herself
There’s also a character who was manipulated by the main villain of another story her whole life and she had a chance for the heroes to save her but tbf actively chose to stay on the villains’ side (but Tbf it’s literally lifelong manipulation) so maybe that counts?
Spoiler alert: I love to traumatise my OCs :3
