Rant: In short, men, gay ships and things concerning them are very mischaracterized as well as dismissed. Aka, make the ships go canon
Wild take, this is by no means homophobic or bigoted as someone who is also actually part of the lgbtq+ but I think that lesbian relationships tend to come easier on tv shows especially western ones than that of gay relationships.
Let's take 9-1-1 for example, for some reason the seasons have been dragging out with Buck and Eddie somewhat stuck in a slowburn so slow that the fire is starting to extinguish itself. People might think that it's maybe because of the streaming networks it is in or that its hard to insert a relationship of same sex to main characters but what about Hen and Karen? They can be considered main leads who are explicitly married and in love with each other. They already opened the convept of Buck being bisexual and was explicitly with a man but why is it so hard to make that man Eddie?

This is honestly just a rant tbh. I needed to get ts shi out somehow after getting to season 9 of Supernatural lmao. I'm open to opinions but I am in no way letting anybody think that I am being misogynistic or prejudiced, it is simply what I have been thinking and I can guarantee and swear on my grave that this is not by any means, meant to harm any group or individual. I'm simply exercising my freedom to express. Anws, its 5 am, I have a flight tomorrow, peace. Adiós!

If people are worried about reactions of fans to a same sex ship going canon then fans know better than to watch a show that concerns lgbtq+ relationships as it is already presented in the show itself. Another example would be DESTIEL of Supernatural and oh God, they haunt me. They are probably the worst victim of queerbaitibg it makes me so sad. All things considered, maybe they became semi-canon but the ship could've been handled so much better. The network could be reasoned again once more but the point still stands. There are a lot of queer characters in Supernatural like Charlie, Claire, Kaia and so many more I may have forgotten to mention, I think even Gabriel is indifferent to sex. It honestly makes me sort of upset that so many people fight for the canonity of the ship because it had such a cultural impact and influence to not only the fandom but also to a community because in a show consisting of a diverse groups, age, and identity that making it canon is like showing that "this is acceptable, this is okay". But nope, it gave us a big middle finger, a stick up the ass and poor management of a could have been break through.
In most of the shows, its like people are so scared to be explicit with gay relationships than they are with lesbian relationships. Its like maybe some ships go canon like Hannigram which I haven't watched, please don't attack me— but it usually feels like tiptoeing around the thought of having 2 men be romantic and actually kiss on screen or simply say I love you and have it reciprocated. But in lesbian relationships, they are often shown being intimate with each other and it seems to come off more natural.
