Hi! It looks like you might enjoy MxM stories. This is the genre I write in, so if you feel like checking out my books, please feel free to have a poke around! ❤️

@SCYLEJ I'm glad you found the conversation helpful. Reft Reverser sounds interesting already! I tend to only read completed stories, but it does sound like it will be the sort of thing I would read, so hopefully you'll announce its completion. :) Wishing you the best of luck with the writing. :)

@Evan_Binley I really enjoyed your explanation on how you view writing. I can actually agree on some points you made, such as writing being an emotional outlet. After putting in some thought from your advice, I want to try to better understand my characters, actually feel what they feel. I've found myself becoming more and more easily detached to, pretty much everything. So I want to try to form some kind of attachment to my characters in order to fully bring out how they are all different and why into my writing. Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. It has made me delve my thoughts a little more deeper into what I can do to make my writing more expressive. Don't worry, wasn't planning on going into that high school jock stuff. My idea for my story is a fantasy themed one called Rift Reverser which includes time travel, emordnilaps (as VSauce calls it) with actual purpose (the 2 main characters, they have emordnilap names due to accidentally time travelling), rifts, magic and more. I can give you a small intro or whatever its called to give you a basic understanding of where the story may be going if you're interested. :D

@SCYLEJ Stay away from high school jock stuff? ;) But on a more serious note, I believe that being creative is a unique experience for everyone, so I'm not sure what advice I could give you that would be relevant. However, I can try to let you know what's been working for me, and you can see whether any of it resonates with you. Immersion is a big one for me. I need to know who my characters are, how they operate, what motivates them and how they're likely to react in certain situations. Also, for me, personally, writing has been an emotional outlet ... like a form of self-therapy ... so the emotional aspect is also a key element of my writing. So far, I've had a tendency to to draw on my own experiences of same-sex relationships (including coming to terms with my own sexuality and the inevitable associated homophobia), and weave those experiences and emotions through fantasy situations. What I'm trying to say is that your reason for writing might also play a part in the tone and content of your story, so it's probably a good idea to know WHY you're writing so that you can actively utilise that to drive your narrative. I really hope some of that helped. ❤️
