I think I originally found this author and her books through your reading list, and I really enjoyed them. Now I can’t seem to find the author’s profile or her works anywhere, so I thought you might remember.
1st story: I think it was titled Mayil (Peacock, but not sure). It’s a Tamil village-based story set in between the 1960s or 1990s. The female lead is named Mayil. She doesn’t like studying but continues because of her father. She tends to sleep as soon as she opens her text books. They’re not a rich family, but her father arranges everything for her studies, including a tutor (possibly for physics or maths). This tutor works in her school only. And his mother stays with him in the village while his father works somewhere else. Over time, she falls in love with her tutor, and eventually, after some obstacles, they get married and settle in Chennai.
2nd story: I don’t remember the exact title, but it could have been Chanakya or Chaitanya. The male lead works for the village head (panchayat leader). The village head has a daughter who initially hates the male lead, but over time she starts to fall for him. She’s in college. The male lead is the head’s right-hand man, which means he has many enemies. He protects her multiple times, leading to love and intimacy between them. Her father eventually finds out, which causes fights and disagreements, but in the end, her parents agree and she marries him.
