You are so kind to share this -- thank you!
It was in one of the clubs that I first saw your story, I think.
Yes, I was unclear how to make a cover -- the site made one for me with a photo I had planned to use for a profile picture. I couldn't find a way to make a better looking one on my own. I'll explore this -- or toss it all aside and move on to Amazon.

Hi, just thought I'd share a couple of things I've learned so far on the workings of Wattpad.

First (and I learned this the hard way), don't ever write directly in Wattpad's 'Create' tool. Always copy and paste it in from another text editor. There's no autosave so if the app crashes, or the page reloads, you can easily lose work.

Also, having a nice cover to your story makes a big difference in getting people to take notice. If you check out the 'Clubs' section of the website (I don't think it can be accessed from the mobile version, only the web browser), and join the 'Multimedia Designs' club, you can request a cover. There are some really talented designers on here that can give you a professional-looking cover. Usually the payment is something like a dedication on one of your chapters, or reads / comments on their stories. No money changes hands.

Being active on the forums (clubs) is also a good way to connect with other writers and find people to follow / follow you. Just don't try to promote your book / ask for reads / votes etc outside of the dedicated threads, as that's frowned upon. I sometimes visit the 'Improve your Writing' and 'Industry Insider' clubs, which is where you'll find people interested in the craft of writing, and getting published.

If you want to build a following on Wattpad and get your work noticed, several people have written books on how to do this. 'Cracking the Wattpad Code' by @MichaelLimjoco is a good one that examines the Wattpad ranking algorithm, and some ways you can take advantage of it, if you want to (I haven't tried many of the tricks personally, but it's interesting nonetheless)

Anyway, hope you're enjoying Wattpad so far. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. :)

          Cheers

          Josh
