@TheOrangutan it's a difficult one, but what Gaiman said was that kids are surprisingly hardy and the whole moral of his story is that the child wins. Still, all kids are different. I think you'd really like that one though. The film and the book. I did a presentation on Coraline and enjoyed the research.

Lo SabreH-88,

Welcome and well met. I got your message and wish to thankye for your comments on Salted Slug and other poems. One of the delights of this place is the element of surprise when you read the work of someone who can actually write and take you with them in their imagination. Our friend, TheOrangutan is the most gifted story teller I have read on here to date and I am sure he has suggested I read your work. It be late now and I am tired after working on my next book. I want to be fresh minded when I read your work and comment over the next day or so. I do like your titles and am looking forward to readind your work. Thankye again for for your opinion of mine..Stay tuned..

@SabreH-88 - oddly enough I picked up the book in a great little second hand shop round the corner from the office the other day. It's got the audio disk in the back so will expose the kids to it soonish.
Kids are tough as hell in many ways, mine always surprise me. 'Tis part of the fun =]
One of his short stories was my favourite, 'tis about a house cat and the devil. Scared the bejeesus out of me. Brilliant.

@SabreH-88 - he's the reason i started writing short stories in the last year or so. A colleague (another Engineer, gotta love 'em) leant me a couple of his books. Stunning.
I've heard a couple of interviews with him, as you say an interesting fella.
I read The Graveyard Book on holiday in May this year, very good but I haven't seen Coraline, not sure my kids are old enough yet.

Hi, thanks for fanning and I hope you enjoy any of my stuff you happen to read. Bit of a coincidence with Mr Valiant there =]
I'm going to be going on a reading binge next week once I've finished pootling around on my current story so I'll read some more of your stuff then.
          Cheers, Gav
