Hi loves,
          Yes, I know it’s been *a while*. Almost a year, in fact. But I’m finally back with a rewritten chapter of *APEX*: “Dark Outside”
          
          I did want to say a quick thing before we jump in. I originally wrote this story over a decade ago (which feels slightly illegal to say out loud), and there are some themes in it that I’m not fully comfortable with anymore. I don’t have the time to completely rebuild the whole thing from scratch, so instead I’ve been going through and reshaping it...softening things, refining others, and generally trying to make it more digestible.
          
          I’ve also added trigger warnings wherever I felt they were needed.
          
          So yes, it’s still *APEX*, just… slightly more emotionally evolved than 16yo me intended.
          
          I hope you enjoy this chapter. And I’m also back on my posting schedule, so the next few chapters should be coming out a lot faster...consider this me making up for lost time.

          I know I disappeared for a bit—the longest break, honestly. Work travel happened, life got chaotic, and this rewrite kept getting pushed further down the list than I wanted. Not ideal, not proud, but very real.
          
          Anyway—it’s finally here. I went back in, trimmed the bits that weren’t working, added some things that felt more right, and tried to make the chapter flow better. I’m still not 100% in love with it (writers, you get it), but it’s been way too long to keep you waiting.
          
          So… new chapter’s up. Please be gentle. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for sticking around despite my vanishing act.

Hey everyone 
          Life’s been a little chaotic lately with work, family, and everything in between so I haven’t managed to get back to editing the chapters the way I wanted.
          
          But today I finally have some breathing room, so I’m sitting down with it. Hopefully I’ll get through a few chapters if my brain behaves 
          
          Sorry it’s been slow… I really thought I’d wrap up the edits in a week, but the minute I started rereading, I was like “oh no… absolutely not” and now I’m fixing like half of it
