@Sourav6791 Occupied with exams so expect the update by Dec15. As for consistency, I try to post 2-3 chapters a month- individually or all together. So the schedule is random.

FFS, I tried like 10 times to comment on your COTEXPJO fic, but it kicked me out of Wattpad every time so I’ll try posting it here. It’s about Ayanokoji being “merciless” and showing a bit of is dark side in competitive situations.

Competitive? No, competition alone isn’t enough to make him opt for self-preservation at all costs. It has to be a situation that he is not in control of, has negative consequences for him or what he desires/plans, or something like that. If competition alone was enough to get him to do “anything to win”, he wouldn’t hold back all of the time, which is what he does. In the sports festival, Island exams, class paper shuffle, etc.
He is merciless in regards to preserving himself, and/or in forwarding his plans, so if flying under the radar and sticking out as little as possible is useful, he will do it (like when Ryuuen was looking for X), but when he wants to divert Ryuuen’s attention away from him, he acted out and made an outstanding performance in the race during the sports festival, which was the exact opposite of what Ryuuen thought X would do, so Ryuuen no longer thought Ayanokoji was X.

@mnemoniac Nah, don't worry abt the yap lol.
I like discussing good characters- especially ones like Kiyo. It improves both my writing and gives me a new perspective.

@mnemoniac You're correct. Curiosity and survival are the main driving forces for Kiyo. But I mentioned "competition" because I believe he has been nurtured in a way where he is forced to excel to survive. And living like that for 15 years creates a sort of reflex or habit- meaning if you face a challenge and you're conditioned to "Win at all costs", your first subconscious thought will be "I have to win". But whether you act on that reflex or not, depends on your conscious decisions.

That's why in vol 2, when Ryuuen corners Sudo and class d is faced with a trial, there is a scene where Kiyo "unconsciously" starts to analyze Ichinose, Ryuuen as well as other options to ascend to class A, despite him wanting a normal life. Then he stops, and says:

            “Ugh!”
I unintentionally let out a small noise.
            I really was an idiot.
What was I getting worked up for? I had arbitrarily started analyzing
Class D and considering the options. I didn’t want to. I mean, she was the
one who chose this school, right? Horikita and Ichinose were aiming for the
top, not me. All I wanted was an ordinary, regular life where nothing ever
            happened.]

That's because I believe this "Winning is everything" mindset gets activated not only when it's about his survival, but also subconsciously- when he feels challenged, because that's how he was raised.
It's sort of a mindset that is hard for him to throw away.

@KingJulien04 It starts with Percy Jackson. Then after the first 5 books, there is a small time skip and a new story continues in Heroes of Olympus, which is the next series. It has 7 main characters, including Percy.
I like Heroes of Olympus more, cause all characters are grown up and mature.
