IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
-----------------------
Bangladeshi students are protesting against the Quota system which reserves a significant amount(56%) of the seats for government jobs(BCS). In 2018, this system was removed, but it was restarted in 2024 as the High Court said that removing the Quota system was illegal. Hence, uni students all over BD resorted to peaceful demonstrations while chanting the slogan "Ami ke, Tumi ke, Rajakar Rajakar!". In this context, 30% of the seats are reserved for descendants of the fighters from our 1971 liberation war. Whereas Rajakars are deemed traitors as they aided West Pakistan during the war. The students want this amount to be reduced or for the Quota system to be removed, but the government said that if they do that, Rajakars will get these jobs. During the demonstrations, Chatro League entered and started beating the students with iron rods, lathis and rocks. In Rangpur, Dhaka University and JU, police openfired and some students say that they heard noises of bombs. In one day, six students died across the country. This amount increases day by day.
Bangladesh is bleeding and the government is silent.
