I've been writing stories and poems since I was a little girl but stopped after I graduated high school. I dont know why, maybe because sometimes life distracts you.  I don't know if my stories or poems are any good but I know that most of what I write comes from my heart. I love writing. Its a great escape from the world we live in that can sometimes be hard, sad, and frustrating. Through writing you can help someone who may need to read your story or poem at a particular point in their life.
      My goal in my writing is to open eyes and minds. I want to connect with people through my writing. I want to share my experiences through story telling and let readers know they are not alone. I want to be the escape, the healing, and the release readers may need.  Story telling and poems are not just about fairy tales and rhyming words, its about a deep connection. Story telling is the fabric of cultures and societies. Its history and its what impacts  and inspires so many people. 
     Its art. 
     I hope that my stories and poems inspire and help. I've never published a book or a poem. Most of my writing has been in academia. I just decided to pick my "pen" back up and put my stories down on paper. I hope you like what I've got rattling around in my head. Thank you.
