Hey everyone,

I just wanted to drop a quick note to apologize for the irregular updates lately. Real life has been incredibly demanding and exhausting, and I just haven't had the physical energy to keep up with my usual schedule.

Thank you so much to everyone who is reading and sticking by this story. I appreciate your patience more than you know. Updates will be a bit spaced out for a bit while I recharge. Take care! ❤️

The First CEO: Expected a dramatic breakdown, got a transmigrated soul who treats his contract marriage like a corporate sabbatical with a cloud-like mattress. (He is currently having a crisis over being a "Human Duvet with a bank account").

The Second Mafia Don: Thought he kidnapped a helpless butterfly, only to realize he brought home a retired army sniper who will literally eliminate his rivals purely because they disrupted her 10:00 PM bedtime. (Now he's carrying her mangoes).

          Logistics:
Tone: Chaotic, satirical, and strictly common-sense.

Hey everyone! I’ve had a lovely reader ask about the 'ghosts in the mirrors' and the 'retelling' note I mentioned in the blurb, so I thought I’d share the beautiful history behind Sheesh Mahal here on the board!

This book is a deeply personal, transformative AU mash-up that I actually wrote for my own comfort and sanity during my postpartum confinement. The character blueprints come from two stories that kept me company during that time: Abhay & Kashi's foundation was inspired by Preeti Tiwari's Kashi Ek Prem Kahani, and Samar & Gauri's dynamics were drawn from the classic Royal Romance setup on Pocket FM.

I fell in love with them but wanted to explore their world through a different, deeper lens. I wanted to mash them into one shared universe, give them complex family dynamics, and let them act like the sharp, dignified royals I always imagined them to be. As the blurb says, it's written to explore these dynamics through a healthier, different lens. While Samar's arc holds closer to those familiar beats (about 80%), Abhay's story takes a massive 40% detour into a very different, slow-burn path of redemption and emotional growth.

It's a retelling born from a very tender chapter of my life, and I'm so incredibly grateful to the few of you who are walking through this universe with me!

@SanchiK94 Oh, don't worry at all, love! Sheesh Mahal is a completely original, transformative AU (Alternate Universe) retelling. Copyright applies to copying actual text word-for-word, not to creative inspirations or tropes. Wattpad fully welcomes and protects retellings and AUs—which is why I proudly shared the creative history behind it on my message board for everyone to see! Thank you for looking out for me, though!

Kashi and abhay story resembles another wattpad story "Kashi"
So that story is the inspiration author?

@invisible_arch okay author, by the way how many more chapters remaining for the completion of the book

Haha no offense taken at all! You're completely right—the beginning is almost a direct mirror because I wanted to set up that same foundation. The next few chapters will still feel familiar while the groundwork settles, but their path forward and actual growth is going to look completely different once we get past those toxic tropes. Hope you stay for the ride! ❤️
