So I haven't been fine eveer since the epic saga ended. So I was like hey time to pick up circe again so I can read about odysseus and Penelope's happy ending. Now I didn't get to that part. A couple of years ago—I think it was 3 anyway so I dumped the book right after odysseus showed up. I had found it boring at that point so suddenly I had motivation to find out what happened so I picked up circe again and oh.my.god
now I like this version better than whatever monstrosity the telegony is BUT YOU MEAN TO SAY ODYSSEUS NEVER GOT TO HAVE A HAPPY ENDING? HE CALLED HIS SWEE SON A COWARD AND YELLED AT HIS WIFE FOR RAISING HIM? AND TELEMACHUS DID NOT LOVE HIS DAD AND PENELOPE HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN TO THIS STOIC WOMAN WHO REFUSES TO FEEL OR SHOW WHAT SHES FEELING. kill. Me. Now. I wanted therapy. Sure it makes sense but to HAVE ODYSSEUS ACTUALLY BE A RUTHLESS MONSTER (TuT) like idk man i thought that hug jn the end heaed him or whatevr. I guess its not enough to erase 20 year sof trauma. And odysseus isnt the only one who was traumatized. And I did not expect to like telegonas. He's such a sweet thing. The ending was better sure but....odysseus (TuT) oh the gods hated him fr.
