This opening hit so hard — the quiet heartbreak, the tension, the cold morning, everything felt alive. Faye sneaking into the wagon while her family shares a goodbye she can’t be part of… that hurt in the best way.
You wrote the grief, the envy, and the determination so beautifully. I’m already attached to her, and I need to know where she’s going and what she’s willing to sacrifice for it.
