I would consider myself an average writer in that I can tell a story even if the grammar and punctuation are off at times.

Are my stories, genre changing? Absolutely not. The most I hope for is that they are a love letter to the genre which has brought me sheer joy over the years.

Are mine a little too descriptive compared to the more straightforward, action focused stories I have found here? Yes, it’s my style and I try to do what works for me. While others plays to their strong suits as they should.

There comes a point where I have had to accept things. That I can’t squish myself into a spot where it isn’t a right fit for me. And I am not just talking about writing but personal life too. This week alone, I have had to accept a couple of things about myself and since they are both trigger sensitive I won’t say. It isn’t always easy to admit them openly no less accept them and it can hurt.

Was buying a loads of books by your new favourite author the best way to cope? Unsure but I did it because it makes me happy and that is what it is about; accepting and then being content.

Burn for You, Red Kiss and A Kiss At Midnight are the stories I wanted to tell.

Whether it is writing a paragraph a night.

Finally figuring out the words to make a previous sentence you were struggling with, work

          	Having fun going over the source material to inspire lines such as this one;
‘To let crimson drip to the floor just like the tears that splashed her cheeks minutes ago.’

All of that makes me happy. So, the moment when I do write the words, ‘The End” to Red Kiss it really is the end. And I know I am content with that decision to step away along with the other big change I am making.

My stories are not future best-sellers but they are mine and hey, I got to write about a 5’5ft lady sitting on her 7ft tall husband’s chest - still really pleased about that scene.

@EmilyMorgans all is well just sometimes I voice my thoughts aloud. Thank you for your kind offer ❤️

It is the words you write that create those chapter recaps whether it is the stoic Beast or the rake with the A+ tush, he is next on my list and there is no rush on reading mine.

I do really like that point about returning someday to writing if a story idea starts nagging at you and my characters do always like showing their claws, hehe. For now, I am enjoying like you said, finishing these works before I get to move on to something a bit different though I never not be reading

@PhoebeKells1 (Not me missing 99% of notifications about announcements) It makes me sad to think you will walk away from writing, but I'm comforted by you enjoying writing the stories you are working on and finishing them. And the glorious thing about writing is that it's a hobby that can be picked up again at any point should a new story start nagging in the back of your head. (Look at me, I had a fourteen-year-long writer's block...)

Your writing is wonderful and you have your own style, which is more than a lot of writers can say. Honestly, your chapter recaps are better written than my actual chapters lol I will definitely get around to reading your stories once I get through a couple of others on my life, because I love the plots from what I can tell.

I hope all is well, and I know I'm technically just a stranger on the internet, but if you ever want someone to vent to or talk to, you know where to find me ♥

@MiniBoo2214 think that sums up all of my plots, being inspired after doing some random task and I 100% agree with cherishing the story you wrote because you did that, you put the words to the page

I love in historical romances when the gruff or stoic hero is so soft with his love interest. My characters are not nobles but I thought I would try my hand at it:

‘Without a second thought to his actions, Leo walked over to Mina and guided one hand to rest on his palm. His other hand dipped below her chin, his touch gentle as he tilted her head up.

“You are welcome to stay here as long as you like. We have a spare room for you and there is always fresh linens according to Ms Everley. No one least of all me will charge extortion prices for food. And the door to my home will never be closed to you, Mina.” His voice soft.

Mina threw her arms around him and for a moment he stood frozen, surprised then slowly she felt one arm slide around her waist. He reached up with the other, his fingers to thread her hair.

She met his gaze. “Thank you.” Her voice a fierce whisper.

It shouldn’t yet one look at his brown eyes and Mina found herself with red spots blossoming upon her cheeks. The rhythm of her breathing to suddenly be composed by him. His mere touch to unleash the butterflies gathering around her heart.

“You are very welcome,” Leo murmured.’ - Red Kiss Chapter 6

In 2021, I wrote a story about a young lady setting off to London to meet her so called intended fiancé only to learn along the way that a wallflower such as she can be plucked from the wall and placed by a gentle dragon’s side who will admire and love her for all times. Burn For You.

Then decades later or 2 months real time after I penned the first story, her granddaughter accompanies a grumpy werewolf who is also head over heels in love with her to a distant town where a stolen item and a mystery are awaiting them. A Kiss At Midnight.

Today, Burn For You has over 3000 reads and A Kiss At Midnight has over 2000 reads which is amazing to me. I am entirely grateful to anyone who has left lovely comments, voted or read either of these two stories over the past year.

Thank you so much for your support ❤️❤️❤️

If publishing was like a train station with each platform either an agent for one chosen genre or where to go for self-publishing to begin the journey, authors would consult, the timetable speak with others to decide where is best to go for them. That is their decision, their route.
Me? Well I am not stepping foot into the world of publishing for a reason I may expand on at another time.

Instead I want to mention something about those comments gotten on your stories that are like greetings, I am a talent agent from another writing site are you interested in joining us.

SCAM. I got this kind of message on one of my stories today and given it is the same story that received those p*rn messages in March, forgive me if I am a little annoyed and going to rip into this stupid message.

The greetings. Generic mostly likely copy and pasted to many stories. Doesn’t address user at all which immediately makes me think scam.

Do you write werewolf stories? Hmm let me think? *points to the werewolf tag and if they truly had read the chapter the comment was posted on which I don’t think so, they might have noticed one character turning into a werewolf or else by accident I wrote a very hairy vampire in which case, no I don’t write werewolf stories.

No information on who they are or the company just send us your email.

From my understanding of the publishing world be it self or trad, it is the author who reaches out to copy editors or agents for example not the other way around. And while I did delete the message and mute the user, I did see writers reaching out to this so called talent agent.

Comments like this also give me that moment of “cool I have a new reader” then seeing what it truly is, it is more like “oh never mind, delete the crap”. I haven’t really figure out if there is an audience for me here or better yet how to find it so yeah these comments don’t help.

On March 6 2021, I sat down to write a scene involving the rain soaked streets of Whitby and the arrival of Carrick Ellis, a werewolf tasked with retrieving a rare flower that possess the ability to heal.

Now just over a year later, A Kiss At Midnight, my first ever novel is completed (decided to publish the final chapter a little early than planned).

A Kiss At Midnight is a tale of a werewolf and while on his mission, he is reunited with his love, Ilona who isn’t too pleased to see him. Ah miscommunication, love it. All set against fictional towns in a Victorian Era where ruthless werewolves rule towns and a dragon once ruled a kingdom.

It is a love story at its heart and along the way has been a delight, let me hone my descriptions skills; running through flowery fields is fun and a little emotional at times to write. Yes I did shed a tear writing the final chapter. Thank you so much to anyone who has added this tale to their reading lists, voted or just enjoyed A Kiss At Midnight ❤️❤️❤️

‘Upon hearing her name, Mallory turned to wave at her mother who waved back.

“Mallory knows about creatures like the banshee because she is a young dragon and I won’t let her be endangered by not knowing of what prowls the lands once midnight strikes. Some things can wait until she is of age but her safety cannot be,” Willa said. There was a fierceness her tone and for a moment, Ilona saw not her cousin but the dragon.’

Chapter 43 of A Kiss At Midnight is available, enjoy!
