Um....I know is sounds weird but, I changed the cover, but, it's not showing up when I search for my book

Hey, I tried making a cover for my book but my computer said something about the software not being compatible, so I wanted to know if you could make a cover for me? Do I have to publish my book first so you make a cover??? Thanks, reply on my message board:)
