Roman having a sword makes sense considering the fact that traditionally, they are used by knights who wish to protect. (Note: knights are absolute shit but Roman is a 'good' knight, one who is the traditional fairy tale knight, not glorified scumbags with swords.) Roman having a weapon with mostly offensive properties with the ability to do very little blocking is a fit for his character, bold, brave, stubborn, and a little bit dumb. That does not mean that Virgils fanon weapon should be a scythe. I understand that a scythe is cooler and matches his aesthetic but it's a, originally used for cutting hay and similar crops, and b, symbolic of death, it's also a very gory weapon and very offensive, providing little defence in my opinion. What would make more since for him is a staff. Staffs are a defense heavy weapon, mostly focused on protecting yourself and harming your enemies, not killing them. Staffs are also retractable, able to shrink down, and it fit inside a pocket or a boot, something that Virgil would greatly appreciate. It would make more since for Virgil, a character who just wants to protect Thomas and the others, who most likely wants to avoid actually killing a side even if they'll be fine, to use a staff instead of a scythe. At the end of the day though, just do you, this is just to point out the fact that staffs are there and I would love to see more included in fanon works. Thank you.
