I have always created stories of all kinds in my head since I can remember. However, I never took the next step. I never sat down and wrote out my thoughts. For one thing, I am awful at grammar. Sentence structure and spelling that might seem right to me, in reality usually ends up not being the case. Secondly, I have the attention span of a gnat. I can't remain focused on one thing for too long. I am very easily distracted. Just think of the dog in the Pixar movie, Up In The Air, who yells 'Squirrel!' in between listening to the old man. Yep, that's me.
Well about a few years ago I got exposed to the wonderful world of paranormal romance. After reading my first novel, I was hooked. It is safe to say I inhaled the books more so than just reading them and there was no stopping anytime soon. I grew to love the characters that I read about and that is where something inside me snapped. After reading a couple novels that featured leads that I really connected with and finding that their stories may have not turned out the way I saw it or hoped it would, I took my first big step in writing under the genre that is termed fan fiction. Nothing major. A few notes here and there, but fun all the same.
Now, I have decided to set aside characters created by some of my favorite authors and venture out on a journey into a world that I have imagined all in my head. These stories are from the heart and are works in progress. I can only hope readers will enjoy them as much as I do.
