I am a musician, poet, artist, novelist who is a Christian and strong believer in Christ. Most of my work involves personal experiences from my medical journey that I went through mainly in 2011 and 2012. August 4th 2011, I passed out paralyzed in front of my mom and was rushed to the nearest hospital. From there I was sent to Egleston the Children's' Hospital of Atlanta. By the time I reached the ER I was fully paralyzed from head to toe and began having difficultly breathing on my own due to the paralysis settling to my diaphragm and lungs. I was put on the ventilator and my fight for right to live began. 21 days I spent in ICU all of which I was on and off of life support and most of which I was paralyzed; although t[he paralysis would come and go at times. I do not remember much from being in the hospital just bits and pieces and most of those aren't really that clear so I am unaware if they actually happened or it was illusions from the medications. There is one memory that I do recall and I know without a shadow of a doubt that it is real. I met Jesus. I remember looking around my hospital room as far as my eyes would move, because I couldn't move my head. I remember hearing people all around shouting "Code Blue!" "She's not breathing!" and I remember thinking "Who isn't breathing" and then the entire scene changed I was being held like a newborn baby. I remember feeling the most calming sensation that it was unbelievable so I opened my eyes and there He was. My most high King, Jesus Christ! I know that it was Him. He looked down at me and smiled and said "Everything is okay but you have to go back to the hospital" Then like He told me I was back in the hospital and I hear the same people shouting, only now they are saying that "She is breathing. We have a pulse". It is because of what happened to me and my testimony that I want to further God's kingdom. God has called me to be an American Sign Language interpreter.
