Things are moving more quickly now. Five parts of Book One are now up and in place. Excited for what's coming next.

A Note on the Journey Ahead
Some of you have been with me on this Cattywampus book since the beginning, and I want to be upfront about a change.
What started as one book has become three. The first leg of the journey that happens in 1935, Harmonica's story, kept begging me for more room than a single book could give it. So I'm giving it the room. Harmonica's Basin is Book One of the Cattywampus series, standing on its own, and it'll lead into the story many of you first came here for.
I know restructuring mid-book isn't nothing to ask of readers who've been patient with me. But I'd rather give you a book that breathes than one that rushes past what deserves to be seen... And I think Harmonica deserves to come out of the attic and be seen. And some things — like a bargain struck in Banjo Creek in 1935 — take their time coming due.
Thank you for sticking around for it. I think it's worth the wait.

22nd Update - Everything up to and including Del Baker is now in the correct sequence. Shouldn't be any major plot holes or issues. From Masquerades on I'm still working. Please reach out to me in comments if you have questions. Thanks

July 19, 2026 - Things changed this week. I've decided to work on finishing my remaining chapters. What does that mean? Updates might be a bit slower, as I want to be sure what I'm doing before I do it. AND... I'm exploring new writing communities and websites. If anyone has suggestions. I'm all ears.
@ScottRudolph1970 - I have to make dinner to scarf down before the sprint, but I am more excited than you know to read the new chapters. Yay!
@AubreyJoHardin It's all good. I'm not sure if you saw... In the Hollow is New. So are Shoes in Hand and My ol' Ticker. I'm working on one more now. I'll be to the sprint tonight.
@ScottRudolph1970 Hey Scott, I came to see if there were more chapters. Good luck with the remaining book! I admire you for sharing your WIP as you go. I’m much more Gollum-like with my writing. I don’t have other writing community recommendations. The one we share has been such a positive place for me. I haven’t had writer friends like this since high school. Finding people who understand the weird, dark little stories we’re drawn to has been pretty special. I hope you’ll still pop into sprints when you can! I’ll miss seeing Andy’s story pop up if you end up exploring other spaces, but I’m cheering you on either way. Let us know when you have more chapters ready — I’d love to keep reading.

I've completed the first half of 'Devil's Clearing' which I've now posted and listed at Chapter 11. Andy and Emma are on their way to the Devil's Clearing. but not before they deal with the likes of Wood Drake. Happy Reading. As always, any feedback is appreciated.
