I love writing about stories that have a "I didn't see that coming" ending. I have a love hate relationship with stories that leave you hanging at the end with you wanting more after the last page. I've written a lot in my teen years, however I lost everything I had over the years. And yes, I did back up everything but every time my original copy gets deleted, my back up would also get deleted or corrupted or just lost in general. So because of that, I stopped writing for about five years.
I have now come to the realization that its ok that I lost everything because it was just good practice. I did find fragments of old writings and I don't even think its very good. So their not something to be upset about, just move on and become a better writer each and everyday.
