“Before everything in my nightmares dissolved in darkness, there was always a blinding light. And inside it stood a woman in a flowing white dress. Every time I saw her, this overwhelming mix of warmth and sadness hit so hard it almost hurts.
But before I could ever reach her, something always dragged be back.
Cold hands clawed at my arms and legs, pinning me down as fire surrounded me. The heat burning my skin while panic ripped through my chest.
Then came the figure.
Towering over me.
Watching me.
The only thing I could ever make out were its eyes—completely black and empty, like there was nothing alive in them. A grin would spread across its face, and every time, pure terror rooted me in place.
I was staring DEATH in the face.”
