I played The Sims 1 for a while and then spent years with TS2, finally building a large legacy family called the Pinkertons.  I tried TS3 but couldn't get into the game's style, and I had trouble with TS4 until I bought expansions with more options.  My breakthrough came when I realized I could recreate Sims I had wanted to play in TS2 in TS4 - and now I'm hooked!
