I couldn't feel my legs. They were going completely numb. All I could focus was the rhythm of my feet colliding with the side walk. I didn't even realize how out of breath I already was. Right then the only thing on my mind was getting out of here alive.
They were so close, I could hear their footsteps like they were right behind me.
Dont let her get away! I heard one of them shout.
Hearing that just made it worse and I could feel myself breaking down. My heart was pounding so hard against my chest I could practically hear it and each breath I took was getting shorter and shorter. The heaviness in my chest was getting uncomfortably hard to like it was twisting tighter with every second.
I had no idea where I was going. The alley was getting darker the farther I ran. The reflection from the apartment windows slowly disappeared from the wet pavement. The brick walls felt like they were closing in on me and everything just seemed to be fading. I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold on. My whole body was tired and ready to collapse. This whole idea was bad and I was running out of luck. I just knew it
