Good morning Wattpaders! :) Hope you are doing well. I should have written this long time back, but kept forgetting.

Writing isn't my cup of tea. Coming up with the present version of FAÇADES took me months of editing & thorough revision; I tried my best to make the plot enjoyable. Lately, I'm slightly upset since the reads keep increasing but not the votes. I'd be very happy if you can tell me what I am lacking.
          	– Do you find 13 minutes' read too long for the 1st chapter?
          	– Is the tone too serious & dark for a bey fanfiction?
          	– Are you waiting for more chapters to be uploaded and then gonna start reading?
          	– Or, could it be the high number of reads & less votes discourages you from giving it a shot??

Well, the last option has been bothering me as well. Despite the 1st Chapter having 41 reads & 3 votes, it's appearing in my profile as 521 reads & 3 votes and casting such a bad first impression! (T_T)
That's because I haven't deleted the chapters of the previous version and kept them as drafts. Do you know any alternative to remove the 480 reads of the drafts, apart from deleting them???

I'm thinking of clicking 'New Story' and then reuploading the 1st chapter, if I get time in January. If time permits I may finish writing the Premier chapter (the replacement of the Welcome chapter) and upload it as well.

That's all for today. And Merry Christmas in advance! :D <33
          	With love ❤
          	~Miracle ✨

@ericabba Thank you so much for expressing your views. (Not many people reply my feeds and I can't help but wonder what's wrong.) It's so hard to find time for writing as exams & assignments keep me hella busy. I began writing the Prologue when the stress was off and if luck favours me it will out on January. Well, I had absolutely no idea that many noticed my fanfic. Thanks for letting me know :))

@Serene_Queen I think it's coz of less no. Of chapters + we have already read these chapters, so many people are waiting for you to write more chapters before reading properly. As for feeling discouraged I can't say much coz I don't check it before reading.
Also remind them to vote in the end coz readers sometimes forget.

Yes, finally the long wait is OVER!
Chapter "1. The Reverie" of FAÇADES is out!! Yay! ✨ ✨
Beyblade fans get ready to have a riveting time.

But I'd understand if you don't want to use AI in any form in your writing process. In that case, I would recommend voice notes. If you're ever free for a bit, even half an hour or lesser, then take your phone, open your recorder, and start speaking about your story. It helps me realise all the gaps in my story. Most importantly, it's _much_ more efficient than typing, especially if you have a lot of ideas. After you're done recording, you can go to an online transcription service (I would recomment ListenMonster, as it's fairly accurate and the free plan will serve your needs) and transform your recording into notes! It'll probably require some editing, but it's much better than typing it all out from scratch.

Although... in case you make physical notes on paper, this won't help much :(
Recording is still kind of good though.

Yes! Balancing all that is so difficult. You have to think about the plot, the characters, their relationships, their development arcs, the themes and messages, the writing style and word choice itself... It's fun, but often frustrating and overwhelming.

I love how you word your writing experience, by the way. "The sweet fruits of hardwork" -- it sounds lovely.

And it's okay, Miracle! Take your time. Even if you give book recommendations now, it'll be hard for me to check them out. I have a lot on my reading list already, believe me, but I haven't made any progress on them for months. I don't mind at all. This time gap makes it feel like old-fashioned, handwritten letters that arrive in post one day weeks after your last reply, and surprise you pleasantly ❤️

Thank you. I hope you do awesome in your college exams and practicals.

            Looking forward to talking again,
            Petal :)

@Serene_Queen It's funny how your replies coincide with my once-in-a-few-weeks login. I haven't been on Wattpad in two weeks, but I've come back just in time for your reply :)

I face the same problem. It's _really_ hard for me to get the ideas out of my head and into words where I can see them. And once I start, I find that I haven't thought out much at all. There's a lot of holes, unanswered questions, things that don't make sense, etc.

Two things have somewhat helped me in this matter. Mind you, I still haven't figured out my big project, but something else — a sort of, alternate modern universe with those characters, which started out as a simple imagination and has now turned to a full story — is in good shape. I've even managed to think out character arcs, themes, a lot of backstory, etc. And I have it in words, although they really need to be compiled and arranged.

So what are these helpful tricks? Firstly... Talking with AI. I know many people highly dislike artificial intelligence in creative endeavors. But I view it as a sounding board. It's very good, for me at least, to type out all my ideas and ask for ChatGPT's opinion on it. For one, it actually makes me finish typing all that. Secondly, it really gets my creative juices flowing. I get ideas which should've been obvious from the first. And sometimes ChatGPT's suggestions are great too.

@FantasyCreature123 The last time, in our discussion feed, I replied in long paras was back in August. But couldn't finish replying all your msgs (as my eyes were paining). You asking me for book suggestions in Indian languages remains among the unreplied parts. Time is a real constraint T_T (Hope you don't mind waiting so long for my responses.)
Indeed this chitchat of ours is fun. <33 I always eagerly wait to hear something from your side. ✨
Hope you have a great time ahead. Wishing you luck for jee too. :))

Hello Wattpaders! How are you all doing?
I have a small task for you today. Just picture this:
In the wee hours hours of dawn, you find yourself amidst lush greenery without a soul to disturb you. The weather is mild thanks to the cool breeze. The tranquil atmosphere is a great healer that dissolves all your worries. Your luck shines as you witness the day's sunrise . The golden and ember hued Sun fills you with optimism. Dauntless, you are ready to face the challenges of the day ahead. Indeed a divine encounter! :) ✨

          Question of the day:
Which (Western) song would you love to sing, were you in this dawn of epiphany? ♡

Please do suggest a song even if you see this feed more than year later. For I need songs for a similar part of my bey fanfic.
That's all for today. And have a great day ahead.
          Lots of Love ❤

@Serene_Queen It's completely okay! I know we all have lots of stuff going on in real life. That's why I said no pressure. I know from firsthand experience that it's hard to say no. (I often used to say yes to stuff even though I didn't have time, then feel really pressurized to finish.) I'm actually glad you said it straight away, because I agree, ghosting is unnecessary. Just be honest to both yourself and the other person.
Oh wow, so a new life begins for you. I would love to hear about your experiences if/when you get time to type them out.
Understandable, I'm also a pretty slow writer. I write in bursts... and those bursts are rare. And wow, that's a beautiful title! Take your time of course, but I'll be waiting to read it. That feeling of wanting to restart is so relatable... sigh.
Of course, I understand. I appreciate the honest reply. All the best for creating a routine that works—it's really hard.
                  And have fun in college!!!

@FantasyCreature123 Petal, I'm extremely sorry to decline the offer. (X.X) I feel it's better to reveal the truth than giving false assurances and quitting midway.
My classes will begin probably the next month and life'd get more busier. Secondly, my writing skills ain't that great and take a long while to develop the plot. It took me 3 years to develop The Scarlet Winter (a short satirical fantasy I've been working on besides my ff) and still I haven't written more than 300 words and in fact feeling like rewriting it afresh.
The biggest problem will be typing the story as I'm not online often. That's why I never participate on Watty contests.
You know, this is 1st I got such an offer and I'm really tempted to join. I gave it a good thought before saying no; I really need to to focus on time management. Hope you understand.
But of course, I'll let you know if I change my mind (though there's no guarantee).

@Serene_Queen Most welcome! Hope they help / at least hope you find a new favourite, hehe.

            By the way,

I was thinking of doing a small writing challenge with some people I know. Nothing big, just a personal thing lol. Would you be up for it? It's probably going to be short stories or something like that.

And no pressure! I'd completely understand if you're too busy or just don't want to.
In case you are interested, here are the ideas I have so far:

I wanted to somehow use input from all the participants instead of assigning a topic or something, so here are challenge ideas some which involve sharing around our ideas.

Character Swap: We create characters with brief descriptions and then swap them around. Each of us writes a short story from the perspective of someone else’s character. It could be really interesting to see how we all interpret each other’s creations.

Prompt Roulette: We all submit one or two prompts, and they get shuffled around randomly. You’ll write a story based on whichever prompt you receive.

Genre Mashup: Instead of just swapping prompts, we could merge two or more genres in one story. Perhaps merge the prompt's genre with something "opposite" to it.

Emotional Rollercoaster: We each choose a strong emotion and write a story that captures its intensity. Halfway through, the story has to switch to the opposite or a contrasting emotion. It’ll definitely test our writing skills, I believe.

We could mix and match these ideas if you all want. Perhaps mix the prompt roulette and the genre swap, or the emotional rollercoaster, etc. Let me know which one (or ones) you’re most excited about, and if you have any additional suggestions or edits. I just wanna make this fun for everyone involved. :D

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Hey, Miracle! What's up? Been a long time since we talked.
Sorry, I must have missed your last message again. I'm doing fine. I got admitted to an institute (Unacademy) to prepare for JEE again. So I'm a bit tired after classes. Currently trying to adapt to the classes and finish all the chapters I missed. It's very slow-going though... What about you, how's college? :)

Morning everyone! I wonder if FAÇADES' (previously known as Return Of The Ice Princess) new blurb (see my feed of 29Feb) left y'all puzzled?
Actually, some friends couldn't decipher the blurb fully when I showed them for proofreading.
No doubt many problems arise when English isn't one's first language. Even my vocabulary isn't that good; I'm still lacking at several places.

In case you feel the same as my friends, hope the glossary below clears up your confusion.
          • A FAÇADE is a false outward appearance.
          • A SOJOURN is a temporary stay.
          { NOTE :- Stephanie isn't a Japanese. She goes to Tokyo just for study purposes, not to reside there forever.}
          • A FLIPPANT is one who takes serious things lightly.
          • AN ACE UP ONE'S SLEEVE means a secret advantage.
The line "COUNTLESS ACES BRIM UP MY SLEEVE!" is a pun of the above idiom. So you can already guess the meaning — Stephanie enjoys being an outcast because she can easily maintain her secrecy and focus more on other important tasks. Well, she has other handful of benefits too that you'll come to know as the story unfolds.

That's all for today. Have a great day ahead!

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. :)
Now that my 12th boards are over, bit by bit I'm dedicating my time to my bey fanfiction. But uploading the chapters will take some time as I'll be busy appearing for entrances.
Ah, I was supposed to return with the story back in 2023, however I'm a year late and it's not out yet. I'm extremely sorry...
My parents cut down my screen timing forcing me to delete Wattpad!(×_×) Also, I didn't expect HS years to be this tough.
Anyway, hope you love the fanfic's new title and blurb (see my last feed). And of course, those who had added my book to their libraries would be notified whenever I republish it.

          With love,

FAÇADES (Previously known as RETURN OF THE ICE PRINCESS)
          ☆☆BLURB☆☆
An introvert's life *can* be very interesting and a lot easier than an extrovert's. Take my example. I (despite) a newbie at the Bakuten High School, continue to enjoy myself unmindful of my image while hiding subtle truths. Countless aces brim up my sleeve! Just my Japanese sojourn's gotten quite colourful — kudos to sarcastic tongues and flaring orbs.
I don't resent my choice. Why bother to please the double-faced world? What a waste. Let the jeers continue; I'll remain a flippant unless the *real need* arises.
But who knows what awaits me. For misfortunes never drop hints before coming nor appear singly.
          P. S. For the time being, know me as Stephanie.

Serene_Queen

Well watty people, I'm unpublishing my bey fanfic. Just unpublishing, not deleting— plz don't panic.
With hardly a month left for term2, I have no spare time to spend on writing. Moreover, the story needs polishing in writing style as well as the plot. So I gonna rewrite it after the boards end (late May). I'll require around 6 months to rewrite.
Till then, stay safe and have a good time!
          ~Miracle✨
