So I’ve fascinated with this idea: Olden magic users still doing long incantations with small animal sacrifices and immensely complicated sigils, because they believe it’s makes their magic stronger, and in a way it does.

But then, basically street magic users. Or, just blending in with people making it look ordinary. Like street magicians earning a better living because they use illusion magic to make their tricks seem real. Gardeners or landscapers helping out their clients a little with growth magic. Or people down in subway tunnels using magic to draw the electricity from the subway for their guitar that they’re playing, or something.

I feel like that there would be a disagreement between the two. Old magic users strongly dislike (kinda hate) street magic users because, “You are disrespecting the magic community, and you’re terrible filth,” sort of thing going on. The olden magic users are kind of a small community, and they hate that street magic is getting more popular, now that wixen are almost dominating the population, but not quite, and old magic is dying out.

I keep toying with this idea, but i’m not quite sure what to do with it.
