Hey ShadowAether, sorry for bothering you so much but I genuinely need stupid amounts of advice and since my brother has some pretty weird views on the characters, I need someone else's. So my question is who is your favorite character in Ferelden, why, and do you like or hate or not care about Luna Whitlock? Thanks and sorry again for bothering you!

Hey ShadowAether, you might remember me (haha probably not) I’m the one who wrote Ferelden. Recently I’ve hit a lot of writers blocks and honestly have no clue how to get past them. I’ve tried writing short stories to get my brain to work but it hasn’t really worked. So how do you get past writers blocks?

Thanks a lot! I'll try these out and maybe not annoy like 3 people by not writing for a year or something.

@zoinkerloinker I hear that, writer's block does suck! Dealing with it does really depend on what is feasible, why you have the block and your writing style. I can only give you my experience, but I wouldn't be surprised if something totally different ends up working for you.

Things that I find don't work:

            - Walks
            - Reading books about writing
            - Listening to podcasts about writing
            - Any and all brainstorming techniques
            - Obscene amounts of caffeine

            Things that I find work:

            - Reread things you like, steal your favourite elements.
            - Reread things you hate, vow to not do the things you dislike or do better.
            - Go do something else or work on another project.
            - Skip to writing another point in the story. Don't know how to write a scene? Just make a note about what happens and move onto the next one. I like to skip to whatever bit I feel like writing. Come back to the hard part later when you have more ideas. (I tend to never write stuff in order so this works well for me.)
            - Go back to source material. Learn about things/concepts/etc related to the world. Which mostly just ends up being watching obscure youtube videos about physics/blacksmithing/cultural history for me usually.
            - Deadlines. Always deadlines.

Things that I've heard work but haven't tried:

            - Writing from a different character's point of view
            - Making mood boards
