Actual question why does everyone assume that an author is female in fanfictions
          
          
          i just read a book the bio syas the author is male that uses he/him pronouns and masc compliments but all the comments are using female pronouns and female compliments
          when i asked the people they said they didn't read the bio and assumed the writer was female

I am absolutely delighted there are male fanfic writers and readers. I’ll admit I don’t think about it often but I do know a male author who writes mostly smut so I kinda got booted out of thinking all authors on this app are female pretty early.

            and male fanfic readers cause almost everyone assumes people on fanfic sites are female

Personally I’m more often called gender neutral pronouns(which makes me very happy :D) occasionally I’ll get an assumed female pronoun, but I totally feel for those male authors out there :/ I may be she/her, but I so appreciate being called gender neutral pronouns :) I think it’s a necessary habit, using gender neutral pronouns especially if you don’t know someone or how they identify :)
