Author and illustrator, Shikago, was born and raised on the north side of Chicago. She always loved writing for fun, but this is the first series she's ever published. She always knew at a young age she was a creative, artistic, and imaginative individual, whose beliefs didn't meet society's idea of a perfect young lady. She remembers participating in the art shows at school, as well as the science fair competitions. When she was asked what she wanted to be in middle school, she gave a presentation on why she wanted to be a zoologist. By the time she got to high school, she decided becoming a chef was something that caught her attention, while still being an advocate for nature and the environment. Anyone who knows her knows she likes to say, don't subscribe to society's definition of normal, just be yourself. Most importantly, always be ready for any and all unexpected adventures.
