Finished reading the truth behind the 300 and Leonidas, and I’m quite disappointed…. I know that myths aren’t always true and all, and that they exaggerated some details, but damn. I admired Leonidas since I was 9 years old, for his fight, the strategies, how he motivated his troops to follow even in the nightmarish and suicidal situation, his valiant determination, standing proud at the face of death, even though being a human, a real person, only with the strength of his troops(Which were 6200 against 200 000) and his wits. Though the part in which he fought to death with 300 hoplites to give time for the majority of the troops to escape was true, the Spartans used his sacrifice in what would have been one of the most greatest propagandistic phenomenon of history.
