The most tedious thing is hammering cannon things everytime it tries to do something outlandish. That's why I try to generate/give him a full outline of each chapters (I try to generate it asmuch as possible to be mostly generated without much input on my part except correction). Then once it gives me a full outline, I save it in a file to be used by the AI for continuity (so that it always have what happended before without having the full text). I'm at my 5th rewriting of volume 3 because I try to have a better chapters length (the first try is the one I am the most satisfied with but I want to try having a longer volume (It's still around 59 pages on words like the other two volumes but I'm not satisfied).
Before, replying I quickly tried to test doing a reaction scene. It doesn't seems impossible. But it seems really fastidious to do, I tried to do a basic past react to future but you need to lock every characters that will speaks else I got Ichika in 1st year...
Best would be to have a outline of who speaks for each paragraph to react by making multiple prompts for each paragraph and making a collage afterwards to have your full scene.
For the tools I'm mainly using ChatGPT Plus with 4o (5 isn't satisfactory enough). I tried Claude too, but it didn't allow me to prompt more correction and I reached the ceiling too fast to even do correction on one chapter, for ma fanfic, all cannon and already done volumes are in the project so that it can refer to it. I also implemented tracker for each characters (introduced when, personality, developpement, current headspace, last appearance, ...) so that it can refer to that each tie and update it afterward. There is also one for relationship between characters as they differ from canon.
