Okay, after my 3rd watch of Michael I have some thoughts.
My first felt VERY fast. Made me a little weary about it. I felt like a lot was missing, and it seemed a little flat. I even compared it to the musical because it was really on the same wavelength for me (which I still think it’s very reminiscent of but there’s a bunch of differences). But the musical felt more alive in a way.
My second was slower, I noticed details more and I could appreciate the storytelling better. I fell in love with it.
My third was perfect because I went with a fellow Moonwalker. We noticed so many little things that I didn’t before. And understanding that this is the reason that this movie was so needed.
I loved the ending of the Victory Tour. It was needed to change it to 'Workin’ Day and Night', with the whole Joseph plot and him saying he owned Michael’s ass from 9-5. I thought it was a great choice and a good use of creative liberty.
But most of all this movie made me miss Michael so much. Jaafar did such an amazing job I cried too much.
Also we knew this was gonna blow up because it’s Michael freaking Jackson lol. We’ve been here tho so watch me get into those theaters first every time
