I’mmm baaaaaaack…
          
          And Chapter 13 is up.  Let’s see if we can get this ball rolling again.  

Well, it’s been a looong year… including a deployed spouse, cross-country move, and death in the family.
          
          I also realized my main fic, while full of fun character development and fluff, was struggling with a wandering plot.  So I stepped back to rework the outline a bit.  This means that the final version will likely be pared down … thankfully for those of you who’ve been waiting for me to complete the darn thing, there should be no retcons.
          
          For now, I hope you’ll enjoy the one-shot crack fic I just posted for my niece, who’s currently eating out Hurricane Milton from a safe place.  Prayers for all affected by Helene and Milton!

Hey guys!  Long time no write!  It’s been quite the season—my husband deployed 6 months ago and somehow instead of having more time to write that left me with less time + writers block.
          
          The last two nights I finally got a few pages written and it feels like a huge win.  Been spending a lot of time in writing analysis videos… and down the nostalgia road.  Realized how much my favorite storytellers (Joss Whedon, M Night Shyamalan, and to an extent Amy Sherman-Palladino) influenced my own style … so if it feels like Batch is in Stars Hollow one minute and Walker Wildlife Preserve the next … now you know.  ::hides face::

Hello, my lovelies!  I can't believe it's been four months since my last entry--I know I'd insinuated monthly updates but life has been all upheaval this summer.   It's also remarkable to reflect that we stepped out on this journey over a year ago (my initial post of the Prologue and Ch.1 in July of 2022)... now Mabon is nearly upon us again in the real world, despite being only three chapters back.  Best of intents is to find a rhythm and wrap this baby up by spring--with lots of "slice of life" comfort to split up the tension.  Weirdly, my original "big bad" has changed and evolved a few times since the inception of the story, so while Echo, Maire, and Hunter's relational developments have continued steadily according to my original draft, the circumstances they are moving through keeps... taking new form.  My apologies if any inconsistencies have thrown the pacing, and thank you all for sticking with their story.  If you have made it this far, I hope you all are as excited to see how their journey plays out as I am.

          But wanted to give my followers the heads up that if you get a bunch of update notifications, my apologies.  Had to clean up prior chapters to get my head in the game.  Oof.  
          
          With any luck, 12 will be up by this weekend! **fingers crossed**. Man, writer’s block sucks…

Hello lovely readers!  Just wanted to offer a quick update.  Chapter 12 was half-done when when I posted 11; alas, my family kept cycling through norovirus (“stomach flu”) and that really impeded progress.  When I wasn’t holding buckets for the kids or doing laundry, I was battling brain fog.  X-P
          
          Just wanted to assure you that this story is not abandoned, even if life keeps throwing off my update plans.  In the meantime, may the Source of the Force be with you all!

Hi Shona! I've been thinking about your character Maire, and more specifically, her music, as that really stands out to me about her. I listen to an artist on Spotify named MALINDA. She does a lot of music with traditional Irish instruments, and when I read the chapters with music involved, I hear Maire sounding similar to MALINDA. I really recommend listening to MALINDA's music, it's absolutely amazing!

Testing, testing … tried to post a message to a new reader’s wall but WattPad cheerfully told me “Message Not Posted!”  Anyone else having this issue?

Hello there, fellow Clone stans (and simps—you know who you are ;-) ).  Here’s a Star Wars Day update: Chapter 11 of Behind the Storm is finished, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger so I’ve been trying to make progress on Ch.12 so as to not leave y’all hanging.  If I can get my rhythm down I’ll try to get both posted before the weekend.  May the Forth be with you!!
