So I was in my room minding my own business drawing Optimus Prime, then my dad came in, took one look at my art and started scolding me.

He scolded me saying why I am drawing something super childish, and said this is why I have no friends. This broke my heart because he knows about my recent friendship conflict. He never even took a look at my other drawings. He told me to stop drawing Transformers or stop drawing forever. My mom agreed with him.

I can't show anything to my parents without being judged. I have a whole notebook with transformers art, and whenever I show my brother and my parents, they ignore it. Worse yet, my friends even ignore it saying that it's too childish.

I've tried talking to the counsellor about this before, but they just told me to start drawing differently. And when I do draw differently, my dad says it's not good enough for an 'art student' (because I've taken higher art as a subject)

Why can't they just support me...

@Shraquaspark_Prime you're welcome girl we'll always be here whenever you feel down so don't let anyone get you down like Optimus Prime always says what defines a transformer is not the cog and it's chest but the spark that resigns from it and that spark is something that your folks can't take away from you so as long as we're here to support you no one can take away from what you love to do

Firstly, I don't want ANYONE to take this in a mean way. I just want to announce it.

I've seen many stories where a lot of people are asking to update more chapters, even when they just updated a new chapter, including my own story.

This is in my context: while I love seeing comments on my story, I feel like it's a little disrespectful for asking for new chapters immediately after I just published one. I know most of you guys have good intentions but sometimes it can be taken wrongly.

We all have our own lives, and writing chapters takes time. It's not really so easy and I'm sure everyone here should understand. We cannot dedicate most of our time towards stories.

My context (again): although I'm having holidays right now, I am juggling between three stories. With my dad's pressure to finish my storybook, I have to juggle between my Wattpad story, my real storybook and a story for my school project. And I also need to spend time with my family.

Yes, I know I used to publish a chapter every night, but now I realized I shouldn't force myself. Writing takes time and it's supposed to be fun. And sometimes if people are begging for updates, it doesn't become fun anymore. It becomes stressful.

So, please. Whether you have good intentions or not, don't force/beg writers for new chapters immediately after they just published one. I know many people are understanding, but instead of relaying it when the author replies to your comment, relay it in your original comment itself.

Thank you and I reallllyyyy hope no one takes offence to this and becomes more understanding.

@Shraquaspark_Prime  Agreed

We need to take others into consideration think about how would the person would feel if you were having a face to face conversation.

So I was watching Teen Titans Go last night, and something crazy happened in an episode.

So this episode the team got captured by some evil dude in a music dinention. Cyborg goes to rescue them. And guess what happened.

Cyborg transformed into a BIG RIG, and he said "CALL ME CYBORGAMUS PRIME" and looked at the evil dude and said "ONE SHALL STAND, ONE SHALL FALL" and "TITANS, ROLL OUT!'

OMG me and my brother were literally screaming and I was fangirling SUPER hard. My mom came into the room and called me a psycho. It was SO EPIC SBDBSJIWNWPE SHEH BEDHENE AGSGBD WLWSHSJKSMS

I need life advice.

By next year, I need to choose a course I want to take for my post secondary education the following year. This course will be my diploma.

I want to take a theatre course so fricking bad because it's my passion, but my parents want me to take a business, science or mathematical course for my diploma because they have good futures, and my mom wants me to go university and get a degree. But I don't like math, science or business.

I want to tell my parents about wanting to take a theatre course, but I can't. I really just can't. We have had thousands of arguments about this and I really don't want to argue about this forward.

Another thing is, people don't believe I have the talents for it. And another thing is, my entire family is full of doctors, teachers, lawyers and especially engineers. No one has ever taken an arts course.

I respect my parents, I really do. I really don't know what to do anymore.

Shraquaspark_Prime

@Eclipse_blitz and ANOTHER problem, is that the school I want to go to is not a school my parents would accept. I know they wouldn't accept it at all. There are two types of schools. One type of school is for those who don't know what to do and to continue their education, another one is for the courses and for diplomas. I want to go for the school with courses. There are many different schools in each one. My parents want me to pursue my education further so I can go to university. But education isn't my strongest suit and I'm barely hanging on by a thread in my studies. If I go to the one where I pursue my education, I will be fully focused on studies and nothing else. Not even social life. I just want my parents to accept my passion. It's going to be impossible. Especially since I'm choosing a school in the other category that they won't approve of.

@Eclipse_blitz , firstly I really thank you for your courage in sending me this advice, despite your shyness. I appreciate it deeply my friend.

Secondly, I'm glad that we both have somewhat in common. We are going through/have been through similar experiences and I'm happy you can relate.

One big problem I'm facing is the fact that in my country we have no future or options for theatre, but in the website for the course I did find a lot of career options. I just don't know how to break it down to my parents. I don't know how to tell them. I'm terrified.

But in some way, I understand my parents. Since no one in my family ever took an arts course, they don't know the options. They don't know the future for it. My mom is a math tutor and my dad is an engineer, so I get their reluctance. I want to prove to them that arts has a good future (even though it probably is not really). But I'm terrified, and tired of arguing over and over again for the hundredth time. It's just so hard to be on the same page as them.

@Shraquaspark_Prime  I hope this helps.

Upon reading this, I feel like you should tell them how you think about what you want and why you chose this course. Sure, sometimes parents want you to have a diploma or a degree, but let me tell you what my father told me. . . Those things like diplomas or degrees don't matter when working in real life. . .Like really. I understand that you are scared to tell them.

I felt the same way when I told my dad that I wanted to take a course that was related to art. He supported me as it was my dream and passion. Sometimes my mother's side family, don't like it because they wanted me to become a nurse or a doctor. Even though I don't like it because I am slightly afraid of needles and other things. And yeah, I too live in a family that was full of doctors, engineers, business, chefs, accountancy, and more. . .I am the only family member who took an art course.

So I think. .. that you should take a leap of faith. . tell your parents about your passion. Yes, respect the parents i get it. . . but we also do not want to disappoint them. But you can do it my friend. . . really. If you want to pursue taking a theatre course then go for it. Tell your parents why you wanted this as this gives you an opportunity you can get at the job offer.

(Sorry, I was nervous while typing this since I'm an introvert and social awkward but I couldn't help it when I read your words and needed to give a little piece of life advice. . so yeah, I did my best I hope this will help. ;] imhopeididntoffendedyoupleasedonthateme )

Today was one of the best days ever (transformers case).
          1. My new Optimus Prime phone casing arrived (I am secretly screaming with joy)
          2. My amvs on my YouTube channel are finally getting more recognition and I am getting positive comments on them
          3. A school bro of mine asked me some queries about transformers one and said he asked me because I am the transformers nerd.

I was extremely happy for the third one because no one outside the digital world ever talks to me about transformers, so I feel really happy about this.

@Shraquaspark_Prime I can agree with you that it feels nice to actually talk about something anybody ever talks about in IRL.
