Y'all it has been such a horrible few days for the Washington DC community, especially the skating community. I'm honestly devastated right now.

Wes Johnson, the beloved longtime PA announcer for the Washington Capitals (as well as iconic video game voice actor among other things) almost died and was in a coma for 5 days. It's going to be a long recovery.

The absolute insane tragedy of the plane crash over the Potomac at Reagan (my normal airport for my entire life) which had a lot of the local kids involved in figure skating (including two from the rink where my sister had competed in figure skating). A lot of these kids, coaches, and their families utilize the Washington Capitals' rink as well.

And the death of Shawn Simpson, a former Washington Capitals player (56yo) who was known for speaking about his very real mental health struggles including substance abuse.

If you pray, keep us and more importantly all those more closely affected in your prayers. If you do not, keep us all in your thoughts and memory.

@LadyElmerya I'm so sorry, I'm sure it does hit super close to home as well. Praying for you too

@Silmarilz1701 It actually hit really hard, even though I don't currently live in the us, because I'm also learning figure skating and it feels like these young skaters are people I could have known, and easily too.

It is truly a terrible loss...sending my prayers.

hii~I found you while I was randomly searching silmarillion fanfics yesterday, and I haven't started reading any of your works yet but I took one look at some of them and immediately felt like I would be thrilled to try them out! And then I saw that you were still active on here and I was just so happy for some reason, because it felt like so many great writers of the lotr fandom had left...
so I decided to follow you, and I hope that we might get to know each other in the future (if you would like), because I'm also a kinda violent tolkien fan~!

@Silmarilz1701 omg thank you so much for following me and it's fine I'm not always on here either but I'm so happy to know you~

@LadyElmerya This is so sweet! Yes, there are few of us left on Wattpad in the Tolkien fandom, especially Silmarillion/book stuff. Tbh I'm only really semi active on here compared to the old days. It's great to meet another one of us!!!

Calling all LotR fans!

Ever wonder how the Rangers of the North came about?? How'd we get Aragorn (love of my life) so many years later?

I've had a blast writing my own take on those very events! I hope you'll stop by, and if you can, leave a comment or two to let me know you're there!

This fic is fully outlined, with 50 chapters and a prologue, and should be finished by summer at the latest.

          Love,
          Silz <3

Happy Birthday, Eve!

Seven years ago, I was spending most of New Year's Eve doing repeated loads of laundry. While waiting to switch, I started to reread the best modern girl in Middle Earth fanfic I've ever read: The Inconvenient and Unexpected Journey of Mille Fournier by qarlgrimes.

Suddenly I asked myself, I wonder if anyone's written a Silmarillion MGiME? After some searching, I didn't find anything, and was sad.

Then I said, Why don't I just try? It probably wouldn't go anywhere, anyways.

I wrote the first chapter in a night, and hit published at 12:05am New Year's Day 2018.

I finished book 1 by mid spring. I wrote book 2 for NaNoWriMo while battling a few severe neurological diseases. And two months later, I had brain surgery, which delayed my writing journey for years.

Now it's 7 years later, and I'm working my way through the final segment of Eve's journey. I want to thank all of my readers who have come and gone and stuck with me since that first chapter of the first story. I can't wait to keep bringing you her story this year.

Calling all Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Silmarillion fans! I finally put together my best attempt at what I can only describe as the most epic and tbh important heroic venture in the First Age: the Rescue of Maedhros. Without this moment, Middle Earth would've been defeated long before an Elrond or an Arwen or an Aragorn ever existed.

I've made this work as accessible as possible. Names are Sindarin, for example! Woo! If you like Tolkien's work in any media, I hope you give this a shot.

I did my best to do my boy Fingon proud.

Very friendly but exhausted PSA:

          Drabbles are exactly 100 words.

          Not 104, not 97.

          100 words.

@Silmarilz1701 Another annoying thing about this is that different word processors calculate word count differently. Microsoft Word and Google Docs and Wattpad will all come up with different numbers. :S
