So, last time it was an AI author, now it's straight up plagiarizing. One of my good friends @Chuchaos recently found out an author (whose name I will not be stating) has copied not only his chapter titles, but also dialogues (sometimes completely 1 to 1) from his Pokemon fanfic. Now I wouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but I checked it out for myself and... yep. Straight up the same. He has "All Rights Reserved" turned on so I hope Wattpad support helps at least once. Also, he wasn't credited one bit, which is I would say pathetic. Listen, you have a brain. And in that brain, you have your consciousness. And with that consciousness, you get your imagination. You can use your own words, your own plotlines, your own OC's, whatever. If you get inspired, that's one thing. But to completely copy someone else's work, now that's scummy. Do better.
Exactly, I a hundred percent agree. Even if you’re at a standstill, there are tools online that can help you continue an original story! If someone just puts a LITTLE bit more commitment into it, I wholeheartedly believe anyone could write at least a decent story without having to straight up steal someone else’s work. I’m sorry for your friend, I hope WattPad does something here.
