There is no need to be ashamed of escaping this world.
We all need a break sometimes.
Sometimes, I reject this world into which I was born.
One day after another, more often than not, I chose to live in delusion rather than see the reality I am not blind to.
Who needs drugs when one can dream?
Idle dreaming is the most potent poison I know. I swear, to the best of my knowledge, it has killed more a genius and ruined more careers and families than any single individual in history possibly might have.
And yet, I'd rather not dream idly any longer than I already have. At least not in the same ways I have. I do believe I may be slightly unhinged to say the least, but I absolutely do not want to embody insanity by doing the same thing over and over expecting different results (without changing the context/environment, cause then you're no longer doing the same thing).
There's many a story I'd like to tell. Many a tale I must write. How I wish I wrote so much more than I have, even if it were in blood.
Indeed, I am young, and perhaps I may very well have a long life ahead of me. It wouldn't be the smartest move to live in misery of the dreams I cannot achieve in the dead past that's long been buried.
I can only choose to write and let myself breathe better by doing so. That is what I hope to do, and I hope you may benefit from my endeavors in one way or another.
I write because to perform gives me life, and what is writing but a literary performance. I write for joy and sorrow and any whim of mine. It could be the slightest of excuses to you but I could see it as no less than reason.
We are but humans. It's a shame we live in a time where we are criticized for indulging ourselves in art in our spare time. We are so caught up with productivity that we forget the point of working, or making a living, is to give oneself the material means to live a life worth living. Our lives are so much more than our work, and our souls are so much more than what we see.
