          I have this really good piece that I've been continually working on, but I don't want to publish it because I'm afraid that I'll lose interest entirely in it. ; ; It's a really bad habit of mine to stop updating once I have something to update? Frustrating. I'm not sure what to do about it ; ; Advice??

Very interesting and efficient trick to getting a really thorough, truthful critique. Contact someone that knows writing; either reads or writes a lot. Tell them that your friend has this piece that they're trying to get reviews on, and you're helping them out. Share your "friend"'s writing with the person and ask what they think. They should be more open about what they think, as they believe they are not actually talking to the creator. Ask them where they saw any weaknesses, or if they felt the speed was wrong, etc. If they know their stuff, they'll tell you.

@Crowbar_ You will never know... I also gave up and made up my own. My knowledge of hospitals is pitifully small, though. I guess that's actually something to be glad of?? Like, I have no experience with them because I/my family doesn't get hurt or sick often. Sweet!
